On this day in 1933, the Hawker Demon made his first flight. Derived from the light bomber Hart that had flown 5 years before, the Demon was the fighter version, equipped with three .303 machine guns and a Kestrel turbocharged engine. More than 300 were produced and used by Royal Air Force and Royal Australian Air Force.
