On this day in 1994, the latest design of Eurocopter, the light twin EC135 made its first flight in Ottobrunn, near Munich. It was the follow-up to the Bo105 who had first flown 27 years before almost to the day, adding the trademark Fenestron® to it. Well suited for the police and air ambulance missions, more than 1340 has been built to date, and counting.
