On this day in 1974, less than one and a half year after its first flight, the Airbus A300B2 gets its type certificate. This is the first airliner developed by a cooperation of several european nations. It uses nonetheless the american CF6 engines, those used by the 747 and DC-10. The first production aircraft would be delivered to Air France later in May and would begin its service between Paris and London
