- Information
On this day in 1959, Czechoslovakia was putting its first locally designed jet into the air. The Aero Vodochody L-29 Delfin was responding to a jet trainer request for the armies of the Soviet nations. More than 3500 were built, of which a big half was used in USSR. This device has formed a generation of pilots in all communist countries, before being replaced by his little brother the L-39 albatross ten years later. They now make some rich private owners happy.
